The Painting Course Tutors agree that this course is suitable for students who have had some experience of either watercolour or acrylics. If you are unsure whether this painting holiday is for you, Jane or Christine would be happy to contact you to talk about the level of experience you would need to fully enjoy the week. With lots of individual attention the course is designed to help you to make the most of your abilities and to find a personal approach, giving you the confidence to pursue your painting back at home.
Jane and Christine have years of teaching experience, passion for the subject and bags of enthusiasm. They tailor the tuition to the particular needs of each painter, demonstrating strategies to develop skills for working from the landscape, in simple, easy to follow stages.
The Painting Course Tutors include work on general painting problems such as basic perspective, choice of colour, composition, as well as advice to help you become more fluent in your chosen medium.
The course is unique because we use Tigh na Breac as a base. Scottish weather is unpredictable so we begin painting the landscape from the comfort and space of the house. It has been imaginatively designed, very spacious and laid out over three floors with windows looking out in every direction over Loch Etive and the surroundings. The timber decking which wraps around three sides of the house allows painters ample space to work outside. We paint from the house looking through the windows which provide perfect frames for the scenery or if the weather and students are willing we can venture further afield for sketching, taking pictures and generally gathering inspiration for our paintings.
A warm welcome is awainting you from the Painting Course Tutors!
